In 2017, a first request for a corporate event opened the door to a new clientele. Very quickly, through word-of-mouth alone, Kaya Events earned a solid reputation in the business world, organizing events for companies like Desjardins, RE/MAX realtors, dental clinics, fashion shows, and more.
This organic growth, built exclusively on referrals, confirmed the agency’s natural direction. Kaya Events then took a pause from late 2018 to 2022.
In 2022, the agency re-emerged under a new identity: Zury Events. The name “Zury” is inspired by the Swahili words “Nzui” (meaning good or kind) and “Zuri” (meaning beautiful). A name that reflects our mission: to create events that are beautiful, meaningful, and purpose-driven.
Today, Zury Events focuses primarily on corporate events of all kinds — conferences, product launches, networking cocktails, and business celebrations — while maintaining the same passion, personalized approach, and attention to detail that built our reputation. Although our core expertise is now in the corporate space, we occasionally take on select private projects when they align with our values and vision.
A passionate professional, Fanny Kusombi studied arts (with a focus in theatre) and international management at the University of Ottawa. She began her career as a project manager, working for over a decade with companies such as pharmaceutical giant Abbott and Versacom, a leader in linguistic project management. Throughout that time, she pursued her love for event planning on the side.
In 2016, she took the leap and launched her own agency under the name Kaya Events. By 2017, corporate clients began to multiply through referrals, and her reputation grew quickly, leading to collaborations with Desjardins, RE/MAX, dental clinics, fashion events, and more.
With deep knowledge of the professional world and a strong foundation in project management, Fanny now uses her expertise to support companies across Greater Montreal, with a clear mission: to deliver events that are both strategic and unforgettable.
